314 The Cross Sculpture
This sculpture was made as a result of a conversation with a vicar about Jesus’ cross. We re-interpreted the cross, from the Bible texts which say he was nailed to a tree or tree limb, and like the thorn crown brought to England by Joseph of Aramathea; when planted, it grew into a vine covered tree that survives to this day. We imagine the tree/cross to live on forever- to have been resurrected. 56 H X 27 W
